As reported here, by courtesy of Rugles.com, Google was testing a new feature based on keywords. Similar to Google recommending a word when a searched word is misspelled, the keyword recommendations took a keyword and suggested the "most popular" related terms.

With thanks again going to Rugles, word has come that Google is discontinuing this practice until it is more refined. Reasons for this service discontinuation may have to do with the suggestions damaging advertising, from which Google receives a vast amount of its revenue.

Rugles had this to say about the suggestion service, "such a set of suggestions will drive single word keyphrases totally out of business - so if you still think that you can SEO your website for a single word you better think again on how useful this is (if not how possible)."
