This week, Dogpile launched an updated version of its search toolbar. The newest version now features an RSS "ticker" designed to give users the ability to track their favorite news source. Atom's news feed service is also available to Dogpile toolbar users.
Dogpile's toolbar presents the RSS/Atom news in the form of a scrolling headline. The scroll, fully customizable, features the users' favorite RSS/Atom feeds. Users can also control the appearance of the scroll.
The direction of the news feed scroll is adjustable, as well as the frequency of the scroll update. Besides these additions, toolbar users have the ability to search several databases dictated by Dogpile. And like most search engine toolbars, the Dogpile toolbar blocks pop-up ads.
